I'm not an accountant :)
but my friend ginpod thinks that I can add some balance and contrast with strategically placed vases, curtains, etc. The apartment is actually quite bright, as I get a lot of sun; I think this could also keep the place from being somber.
I can come by and assess your apartment. It does have great light and has lots of potential to be livened up more if that's what you're looking for.
